Stuttgart – 5th August 2023, We are delighted to announce the release of the children's book, "The Electron in the Swimming Pool." The book, co-authored by Robert Löw in collaboration with freelance writer and dramaturge, Oliver Schmaering, brings the wonders of science to life for young readers in an engaging and accessible way, beautifully illustrated by Aaron Cushley.
In a world where science education is more critical than ever, "The Electron in the Swimming Pool" offers a unique and entertaining perspective on the fundamental principles of physics.
What is the book about: Electrons in a swimming pool, particles that can go through two doors at the same time, and flying atoms - all sounds pretty crazy, doesn't it? In quantum physics, a lot of things go differently than you think, but that's what makes it so exciting. A definitely not boring excursion into the world of quanta.
Löw, who is also a distinguished quantum physicist, brings his deep knowledge and passion for science to this project. The collaboration with Oliver Schmaering, a well-known author specializing in writing for young audiences for some time now, ensures that "The Electron in the Swimming Pool" strikes a perfect balance between scientific accuracy and engaging storytelling.
"We are thrilled to have Robert Löw as part of our institute's team and even more excited to see his dedication to science education come to life through this wonderful book," said Tilman Pfau, director of the 5th Institute of Physics at the University of Stuttgart. "At our institute, we believe that fostering a love for science from a young age is crucial, and 'The Electron in the Swimming Pool' is a fantastic tool for achieving that goal."
The book is intended for children aged 10 and above, as well as educators and parents interested in introducing science concepts to young learners in a fun and engaging way.
