Carl Zeiss fellowship for Florian Meinert

July 11, 2017 / PI5

As of September 1st, 2017, Florian Meinert will receive funding over a period of two years from the Carl-Zeiss-Foundation. The funded project "Ultra cold chemistry with Rydberg atoms in a Bose Einstein condensate" focuses on the realization of a novel approach for optical imaging of atomic orbitals. The technique is based on the interaction of giant Rydberg atoms with a Bose-Einstein condensate.

Florian Meinert received his PhD in 2016 at the Institute for Experimental Physics at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. Since September 2016 he works as postdoctoral researcher at the 5th Institute of Physics at the University of Stuttgart.
